Sky Q error 11010: satellite reception in Germany

Identify the German Sky Q satellite receiver, separate 11010 from cable error 11020, and check the safe next steps.

Applies to: Sky Deutschland main Sky Q receiver using a satellite dish. Error 11020 concerns cable reception. Sky Q Mini, Sky Stream and UK Sky Q use different paths.

Work through these checks

  1. Separate live TV from playback

On the main receiver, test two live channels. Recordings and on-demand may still play during 11010; they do not show that satellite reception has returned. Note the exact time and channels.

What the result means: This confirms a live reception fault rather than a general TV-display problem.

  2. Check recent changes safely

Record bad weather, a receiver move or building work. Check only reachable, dry indoor connectors against the Sky Q manual. Look at the dish only from the ground. Do not change shared wiring or SatCR settings.

What the result means: If a loose indoor connection is secured, retest the same live channels.

  3. Follow the exact Sky 11010 path

Open the linked Sky Deutschland article and choose the satellite 11010 path. Check after each step, as Sky asks. Do not apply cable 11020 instructions or a factory reset as a generic first step.

What the result means: Stop when live TV returns; note which step changed it.

  4. Escalate by installation type

If 11010 persists, contact Sky for a private installation. For a shared building dish, ask the landlord or building manager whether other flats are affected and who maintains the distribution. Give the code and results without changing shared settings.

What the result means: This identifies the responsible service route without guessing a receiver or LNB fault.

When to stop and get help

Stop for damaged or wet connections, roof access, dish alignment or changes to a shared system. FixSatellite’s technician matching is currently U.S.-only; in Germany use Sky or the building’s qualified installer.

Common questions

Why do recordings still work?

Sky says 11010 can block live TV while recordings and on-demand remain available; that does not mean the satellite feed is healthy.

Is this the UK Sky Q guide?

No. This code and source are for Sky Deutschland’s main Sky Q receiver. Use the separate UK guide for that service.
