Satellite phones
Compare an Iridium 9555 or Extreme handset kit with airtime from a compatible service provider. Confirm SIM, activation, prepaid expiry or monthly minimums, included charger and warranty. A messaging device is not automatically a voice phone. Check coverage and local rules for every destination.

Boats & marine
Separate television, internet and voice needs. For marine TV, compare a stabilized system such as KVH TracVision with the required regional receiver and subscription. For internet, confirm your route, offshore authorization and data terms with the provider. A land or RV antenna is not automatically suitable for a moving boat; include installation and power in the budget.
