Work through these checks
Identify the right kit
Use the box label or Starlink app and the official kit picture. Standard 4 has Router Mini plus a separate two-port supply; Standard 4 X has Router 3. Do not follow the wrong cable diagram.
What the result means: Proceed only with the matching manual.
Read status before moving cables
In the Starlink app check alerts, outage and obstruction status. The manual says flashing white on Router Mini means connecting, solid white online, red offline and violet bypass. Solid white goes dark after about one hour, so use the app before treating darkness as a power failure.
What the result means: An app outage calls for waiting or Starlink support, not replacing cables.
Check safe indoor connections once
If the app shows no service-wide outage and the equipment is dry and undamaged, compare the supplied cable route with the manual: dish cable to either supply port, sealed Ethernet cable from supply to Router Mini port 1 or 2, AC cable into supply. Check fully seated accessible plugs. Do not open the supply, disconnect a damaged connector or change roof hardware.
What the result means: Retest the app and a second device. Persistent red or hardware warning belongs with Starlink support.
When to stop and get help
Do not climb, alter a roof mount, open power equipment, substitute a generic PoE injector, or factory-reset a configured router as an initial test. Escalate persistent faults through Starlink support.
What to tell support
Kit label, app alert, Router Mini and supply light patterns, affected devices and result of indoor checks.
Common questions
Is Standard 4 the same as Standard 4 X?
No. Starlink’s current manuals show Router Mini with Standard 4 and Router 3 with Standard 4 X. Match the included hardware before following a power or cable diagram.
