HDR-1100S Search or Showcase missing

These features were retired by Freesat in August 2025; distinguish a service change from a repairable fault.

Applies to: UK Humax HDR-1100S; also check Freesat’s notice for other named G2 models. Not a general explanation for missing broadcast channels.

Match your symptom

Search, Showcase or backward guide missingCompare Freesat’s August 2025 service notice.
Live TV or all On Demand also failThis may be a separate signal or connection fault; check it separately.

Work through these checks

  1. Confirm the exact model and feature

Read HDR-1100S on the box label. Freesat’s 12 August 2025 notice names this model and lists Search, Showcase recommendations and backward TV Guide scrolling as removed. Compare your missing item with the list; do not assume every interface change is this retirement.

What the result means: A retired feature cannot be repaired by changing satellite hardware.

  2. Check what still works

Test one live broadcast channel and the forward TV Guide. Freesat says these remain when the box has a satellite RF feed. For the On Demand players Freesat still lists, both satellite RF and internet are needed. If those fail, use the relevant signal or network guide; do not treat them as part of the Search retirement.

What the result means: Working live TV with missing Search matches the announced service change.

  3. Choose the right next step

For a retired feature, Freesat points to newer equipment if you need that feature; compare supported features before spending. Keep the HDR-1100S for live TV if it meets your needs. For a separate reception or internet failure, use that symptom’s guide or contact Freesat/Humax with the model and exact message.

What the result means: No reset or replacement part can restore a provider-retired feature.

When to stop and get help

Do not format recordings or perform a factory reset just to restore Search or Showcase. If live TV also fails, diagnose that separate problem. If the box or power lead is damaged, stop using it and contact support.

What to tell support

HDR-1100S model; missing feature; live TV and guide status; On Demand app status; satellite RF and internet connection.

Common questions

Will a new LNB bring Search back?

No. Freesat ended the service feature on listed models. A dish part cannot restore it.

Will live TV stop too?

Freesat says broadcast channels and TV Guide remain when the box receives satellite RF. Diagnose a missing live channel separately.
