EXPLORER 727: separate registration, tracking and LAN

Compare the separate Terminal and Antenna indicators before diagnosing the satellite connection. Capture the exact event and a completed diagnostic report for support.

Applies to: EXPLORER 727, including 19-inch rack version, manual 98-126882-F (2015). Land-vehicle BGAN equipment; not EXPLORER 325, 540 or 710. Match installed software and provider service before using historical instructions.

Work through these checks

  1. Read Terminal and Antenna separately

Terminal steady green means registered; flashing green means registration is underway. Antenna steady green means tracking; slow green flashing means startup and rapid flashing means sky scan. The same color has different meaning on each indicator.

What the result means: Record model, software, indicator name/color/blink rate, event text and time. Keep diagnostic files private and share only with authorized support.

  2. Identify the local LAN light

LAN Link/Speed yellow indicates 10 Mbps; green indicates 100 Mbps. It is not the Terminal orange warning. For a red Terminal or Antenna indicator, read the event log and involve the distributor.

What the result means: Record model, software, indicator name/color/blink rate, event text and time. Keep diagnostic files private and share only with authorized support.

  3. Save a completed support report

At HELP DESK, Generate report can take about a minute or longer. Wait until generation finishes before saving. Ask the airtime provider about account issues and the distributor about terminal/antenna faults.

What the result means: Record model, software, indicator name/color/blink rate, event text and time. Keep diagnostic files private and share only with authorized support.

When to stop and get help

Park safely before checks. Keep people at least 1 m from the sides and above the powered antenna. Do not open units, rewire, change installed settings or reset a working vehicle link.

Common questions

Does a connected IP handset prove registration?

No. Check BGAN > Status > PIN status. Three incorrect PIN attempts require PUK; never guess. Contact the airtime provider.
