Dialog Play Hub 2.0 remote will not pair

Match the Bluetooth remote, use White Circle + OK, and separate voice or streaming faults from pairing.

Applies to: Dialog Play Hub 2.0 / ViU Hub 2.0 supplied for Dialog Television in Sri Lanka. Match the label and the Bluetooth remote shown in Dialog’s setup illustration. The older OS1203, N8784B and DV2310-S2 receivers have separate manuals: this pairing sequence is not a universal Dialog remote code.

Match your symptom

What you seeWhat to do next
No pairing confirmationWith the matching hub powered and its picture visible on the correct TV input, hold the remote’s White Circle key and OK together. Dialog’s illustration highlights OK in the center of the navigation ring and the small home-icon key just above its upper-right edge. Hold until the blue light flashes rapidly, then wait for the pairing confirmation on the TV. Stop pressing when that confirmation appears; repeated guessed key combinations are not needed.
Menu works; online content failsIf navigation works but catch-up, rewind or video on demand does not, check internet separately. Use the hub’s Settings icon > Network & Internet, choose your own Wi-Fi network and enter its password privately, or check the accessible Ethernet connection described by Dialog. Compare another device on that same network without mobile data. Live satellite TV and online features use different paths; a working satellite channel does not prove the hub is online.

Work through these checks

  1. Match the Play Hub and remote

Dialog Play Hub 2.0 / ViU Hub 2.0 supplied for Dialog Television in Sri Lanka. Match the label and the Bluetooth remote shown in Dialog’s setup illustration. The older OS1203, N8784B and DV2310-S2 receivers have separate manuals: this pairing sequence is not a universal Dialog remote code.

What the result means: Do not apply this to the older infrared receivers.

  2. Pair and wait for TV confirmation

With the matching hub powered and its picture visible on the correct TV input, hold the remote’s White Circle key and OK together.

What the result means: Use the pictured keys rather than a guessed universal code.

  3. Test menu and voice separately

After confirmation, use the arrow keys and OK to navigate the hub menu. Test ordinary menu movement before testing voice: Dialog specifies a long press of the VOICE key for search. If arrows work but voice does not, record that narrower fault instead of re-pairing repeatedly. Working receiver navigation does not establish that the remote can control a separate television’s power or volume.

What the result means: Keep account credentials private if an app asks you to sign in.

  4. Separate online or entitlement faults

If navigation works but catch-up, rewind or video on demand does not, check internet separately.

What the result means: Use official account support for missing subscribed channels; do not alter the dish for an app-only fault.

When to stop and get help

Keep these checks indoors. Do not reset the hub, change LNB settings, move the dish, disconnect powered satellite coax or climb for a Bluetooth or online-content fault. Stop for heat, water or damaged wiring. Dialog’s Sri Lankan service and local installer support do not imply availability in another country; the site country selector is not a service authorization.

What to tell support

If the blue light never appears, check the remote’s batteries and their marked polarity, without opening its electronics. If it flashes but the TV never confirms pairing, record the exact hub label, remote appearance and visible message for Dialog. If a subscribed satellite channel is missing, check account/entitlement separately; Dialog’s account-side rescan is not remote pairing or a cure for absent RF reception. Do not publish passwords, account numbers or screenshots of private identifiers.

Common questions

Is every Dialog remote Bluetooth?

Dialog Play Hub 2.0 / ViU Hub 2.0 supplied for Dialog Television in Sri Lanka. Match the label and the Bluetooth remote shown in Dialog’s setup illustration. The older OS1203, N8784B and DV2310-S2 receivers have separate manuals: this pairing sequence is not a universal Dialog remote code.

Why does live TV work but catch-up fail?

The hub needs a separate internet connection for those online features. Check your network and service entitlement rather than treating a working live channel as proof of internet.
