Applies to: Original SAILOR 100 GX documented by 98-141779-B, 15 December 2014, for ADU/ACU software 1.49. This is an observation guide for an already commissioned installation and its authorized operator, not installation instructions. Do not transfer it to GX-R2, High Power or later firmware without matching documentation.
Work through these checks
Record each ACU indicator by name
Power steady green means supply OK; steady red is a supply fault. Logon flashing green covers searching, identification or carrier-lock/TX-enabled stages, while steady green means satellite link established. Fail/Pass steady red is a fault preventing operation; flashing red is an active warning/failure with an event on the display. Record all three patterns and the exact text together, rather than treating any green light as proof of working internet.
Read the separate modem status
The GMU has no LEDs on its front plate in this edition. Its virtual status entries are available on the ACU display under Modem, including NET, STAT, TX, RX1/RX2, PWR, TEMP and FAN. Preserve the exact name, color/blink description and text for support. A blank physical front panel is not evidence of a dead modem. Compare this observation with ACU Logon; do not reconnect equipment or change the modem profile to force a different result.
Preserve events before they disappear
HELPDESK → Event list shows active events with first-occurrence time, ID, severity and text. Once cleared, they move to Notifications, which this edition clears after 24 hours and after a restart. With authorization, HELPDESK → Download saves a diagnostic report containing current configuration, POST results, active/cleared events and system log. Save that file privately before any scheduled intervention; it is evidence, not a repair. Do not run Self test or factory reset to clear the list.
When to stop and get help
Do not open the radome or ACU, move a service switch, calibrate, commission, change blocking zones or reset factory settings. HELPDESK Self test reboots the ACU and terminates existing connections; it is not a status refresh. Leave active faults and any planned service interruption to the authorized marine service partner.
What to tell support
Keep unit identities, ADU/ACU and GMU software, time, Power/Logon/Fail-Pass patterns, Modem entries, event IDs/severity and the private report. Give the service partner the installed source revision and what changed. Protect account details, network settings, satellite profiles and blocking-zone data in exported files.
