Work through these checks
Confirm the adapter and cable
Connect the specified Cobham SATCOM converter to the terminal USB port, then the LAN cable from converter to computer. Reseat both connections. A generic charging cable is not this converter.
What the result means: Try local management before starting paid data.
Inspect USB settings
Through available WLAN/local access, open Control panel → USB. Confirm Enable and the manual’s 1.0 A setting, then Save. Allow a few seconds. A crossed grey USB icon indicates disabled; blue indicates enabled.
What the result means: Use the configured terminal address; 192.168.0.1 is only the unchanged default.
Read the thermal warning
“USB power limited to 0.5A due to high temperature” means temperature overrides the 1.0 A setting. Move the terminal to a cooler suitable location. Do not repeatedly force the setting; seek support if the warning persists.
What the result means: Keep the exact message for support.
Collect diagnostics
Control panel → Support → Diagnostics report → Generate report → Download report. Generation may take a few minutes. Save privately and provide it to your distributor. Event log includes past events, which need not be current faults.
What the result means: Describe adapter, USB setting and temperature warning together.
When to stop and get help
Do not reset the terminal or disable network security to test a cable. Send diagnostic files privately to authorized support.
