Applies to: FRANSAT in France. Card expiry, the April 2026 security update and signal loss are separate issues. This is not a claim that every HD receiver stopped working on 1 October.
Match your symptom

| HD decoder + still-valid card | Plan for expiry; investigate current faults separately. |
| CI+ 1.3 TV module | Ask FRANSAT for the dedicated “via Module TV” card route. |
Work through these checks
Identify the device, not just the TV screen
A 4K television does not turn an HD satellite decoder into UHD equipment. Record whether you use an HD decoder, a CI+ 1.3 module, a UHD decoder or the FRANSAT UHD TV stick.
What the result means: The device category determines the replacement path.
Check expiry and current compatibility
Use FRANSAT’s model-specific expiry instructions. For an older receiver missing channels, also check the official 2026 security-compatibility list. Do not infer a failed card from a black screen alone.
What the result means: Expiry, incompatibility and reception may require different solutions.
Use the correct renewal route
For an HD decoder at expiry, FRANSAT directs users to compatible UHD equipment. For a CI+ 1.3 module, FRANSAT describes a dedicated “FRANSAT via Module TV” card sold through its own shop. UHD decoders and the UHD TV stick already use their respective UHD cards. Confirm availability and exact compatibility with FRANSAT before paying.
What the result means: HD and UHD decoder cards are not interchangeable. Do not trim a card to imitate the UHD stick’s mini-SIM.
When to stop and get help
If the card is valid and equipment compatible but reception is still absent, use the card-error or signal guide. Dish alignment, damaged wiring and vehicle antenna work need a qualified installer.
What to tell support
Device type and exact model; card generation and expiry result; exact message; whether FRANSAT INFO channel 0 works. Keep full card numbers off public reports.
Common questions
Did all HD receivers stop on 1 October 2026?
No. That is the HD card sales/renewal cutoff. A compatible HD receiver and a valid card can continue until the card expires. Older security-incompatible equipment is a separate issue.
Can I put a UHD decoder card in my HD box?
FRANSAT says no. Use the card and hardware combination specified for that decoder or module.
