Work through these checks

  1. Identify the active handset

Lifting the privacy handset transfers audio to it. To return to speakerphone, press the speakerphone button before replacing the handset in its cup. Replacing it first can end the call.

What the result means: Confirm the intended audio path.

  2. Read Mute correctly

During the connected call, red Mute means muted; switch it off to restore the microphone. Flashing yellow identifies RJ11/POTS use and is a different state.

What the result means: Compare with the other party.

  3. Separate audio from reception

If mute and handset routing are correct, record signal strength and whether the call drops. Pass persistent faults to the service provider with OC800 and the active audio interface; do not reset configuration or disturb installed antenna wiring.

What the result means: Keep the two symptoms distinct.

When to stop and get help

Stop for RF-short alarms, water damage or urgent communication needs; use qualified service and another working connection.
