Applies to: This page follows KING-authored PN22390 Rev A for DISH Tailgater VQ4400 and VQ4410, the actual model names on the DISH-hosted file labelled Tailgater3. It is not Tailgater4, Tailgater Pro or VQ4500 documentation. Match antenna and receiver labels. The historical receiver list and satellite examples are not current compatibility, programming or service-eligibility guarantees.
Work through these checks
Classify reception loss
Match title and code: Complete Signal Loss 015, No Satellites Found 151 and Partial Signal Loss 002 are separate rows in this exact manual. Record obstructions, heavy weather and whether the antenna moved. For 015 the manual also distinguishes a local channel outside its spot beam and recommends comparison with a nationally broadcast channel. If a safe normal channel change is possible, record that comparison rather than assuming every missing programme means no satellites.
Separate location and rights
Outside of Viewing Area 120 and Local Channels Interrupted 536 concern physical location relative to the account address in the manual. Sporting Event Blackout 744 concerns account-address blackout patterns. Programming Not Authorized 005/013/014 is a separate authorization branch; the manual lists both subscription and a receiver left disconnected for a significant period. Give the account holder these exact messages to verify with DISH. Do not realign the dish or purchase a package as a guessed cure.
Keep guide failures separate
No Program Guide 023 means the receiver has not yet acquired the signal needed for guide access in this manual; it is not the same as a particular channel missing from a favourites view. For missing channels, note the existing favourites selection and whether My Channels is selected, then preserve the channel name and any authorization message. Guide Time is Incorrect has its own location/time-zone explanation. Send those distinctions to support before a new check-switch scan or restart changes the evidence.
When to stop and get help
Do not open the dome, change a subscription, request an activation refresh or repeatedly restart the receiver as an error-identification test. Stop for damaged or wet equipment. Preserve the active viewing session and let authorized support choose any disruptive scan or service action after seeing the evidence.
What to tell support
Keep antenna model, receiver model/software if already available, full message title and code, channel name, approximate location and weather, last antenna movement, national-channel comparison and current guide filter. Account address and account identifiers belong in private support communication.
