Applies to: HT1100 satellite modem, original user guide 1039650-0001 Revision C of 11 October 2013, written for United States and Canadian users. This is not HT1000, HT2000W or HT3000W documentation. Match the modem label and installed interface; historical allowance, browser and service examples do not establish current plan terms, activation eligibility or upgrade compatibility.
Work through these checks
Separate the local page from Internet access
Compare local access with Internet browsing. System Control Center is hosted by the modem and requires the local LAN path, not working Internet. If it opens while websites fail, record that distinction rather than calling the whole modem dead. If it does not open, record LAN LED status and whether the failure affects every local device; that observation alone does not identify a satellite outage.
What the result means: The report identifies whether the modem’s local interface is still reachable before investigating the satellite path.
Record the named LED states
Read LAN, Transmit, Receive, System and Power by name. A System light means the modem has established the NOC connection; a local LAN light means only a local device link. Note whether Transmit is mostly lit or mostly dark while blinking, and whether Power is steady, red or flashing. Preserve this evidence for support; do not attempt a firmware recovery because a backup-image indication appears.
What the result means: Support can distinguish the local link, satellite operation, ranging and a software/alarm indication without a destructive recovery attempt.
Preserve modem-side diagnostics
From the existing control page, read System Status and System Information separately. Record the current Diagnostic Code and software/hardware details; available fields can vary with configuration. The Connectivity Test concerns modem-to-NOC connectivity, not whether an individual website works. Retain an existing test result, or follow the provider’s instructions for a specific test rather than repeatedly resetting or changing the network.
What the result means: The provider receives the exact diagnostic evidence and test scope rather than an assumed dish failure.
When to stop and get help
Do not press reset/rescue, disconnect powered satellite coax, open the modem or alter the outdoor dish. Do not install an old browser or disable security protections to reproduce a 2013 screen. Abnormal heat, damaged power equipment or persistent Power alarms require provider-directed service.
What to tell support
Privately save modem model, Diagnostic Code, software version, named LED pattern, local-page reachability, affected devices and any existing NOC test result. SAN and ESN identify the account/equipment and should go only to authorized support, not a public screenshot.
