Applies to: EXPLORER 700 under original manual 98-122988-H, 17 March 2011. Check the transceiver label: 403732A-WOW has no WLAN interface. Do not transfer EXPLORER 710, 510 or later firmware procedures. This archived manual identifies historical functions, not present airtime eligibility, coverage or operating-system support.
Work through these checks
Identify the local interface and hardware variant
Read the transceiver product label and existing icon bar. Rev H explicitly excludes WLAN from part 403732A-WOW; absence of Wi-Fi on that variant is not by itself a fault. Other interface icons indicate that LAN, WLAN, USB, Bluetooth, ISDN or Phone/Fax is enabled, not that a satellite session has succeeded. Use the already working authorized path; do not enable interfaces, install an old driver or replace security settings for this check.
What the result means: An absent hardware feature, a disabled interface and a failed satellite service need different reports. Give support the exact variant and visible interface state; a successful local page load narrows the local path but does not certify registration or data service.
Separate registration, GPS and active data evidence
Read Dashboard Properties and the existing ONGOING DATA SESSIONS/ONGOING CALLS lists. Record exact Status such as Registering, Ready or Data active; do not assume the display and web wording are identical. “GPS acquired” may mean a valid position is hidden or the terminal is not yet registered. Active data sessions list profiles and an assigned IP for each PDP context. SESSIONS TOTAL covers time for voice/Streaming and MB for Standard since the counters were last cleared. Do not start/stop data or clear counters to interpret the original event.
What the result means: Registration, an active PDP context and accumulated usage are different findings. A counter without a known period cannot establish use during this fault or an exact charge. Support can compare the original time, status and session list without a new paid connection or an invented GPS failure.
Preserve the full active alarm, not just a red light
Use the existing web alarm icon/list to read the active alarm, exact text and time without clearing it. The red indicator can also announce SMS, while rapid flashing has the separate antenna-upload meaning. Rev H says the alarm ID includes a hyphen and check digit; preserve the whole value when contacting support. Acknowledging or dismissing a popup does not remove a continuing cause: the indicator persists while that cause remains. Do not run an upload, self-test or fault reproduction to collect evidence.
What the result means: A complete alarm ID and chronology can be matched to the correct original entry. A red lamp without text cannot distinguish an SMS from a fault. Preserve an upload-in-progress state and escalate persistent alarms; do not detach or reset the terminal to make an indication disappear.
When to stop and get help
Stop if access requires an unknown PIN/password, configuration change, antenna movement or new transmission. Do not start or stop sessions, clear counters/logs, reset, update software or detach the antenna. During rapid red software-upload indication leave the antenna connected; preserve the exact alarm and contact qualified support if it persists.
What to tell support
Privately record exact transceiver label, software, source/time of status, enabled-interface icons, GPS wording, active-session profile/PDP evidence and full alarm ID including its hyphenated check digit. Include counter period or unknown last-clear time. Keep IMEI, serial, local/public addresses, position, calls and logs private.
