TNTSAT SRT7408: no signal or missing channels on Astra 19.2°E

Separate TV input, antenna reception, channel-list updates and TNTSAT card rights with safe SRT7408 checks.

Applies to: STRONG SRT7408 TNTSAT, Astra 19.2°E. Not SRT7407 FRANSAT, terrestrial TNT antennas, or another receiver’s signal-percentage scale.

What you seeWhat to do next
TV reports no input; receiver menu absentSelect the HDMI/SCART input actually connected to the receiver.
Menu works; receiver reports No signalCheck reception path and saved settings, not card expiry.
Some channels work; others missingRead the exact message: list update, card rights or one channel’s transmission issue.

Work through these checks

  1. Prove the TV connection

Wake the receiver and press Menu. Choose the TV input connected to its HDMI or SCART output. Check an accessible display cable without disturbing SAT IN. If the menu is absent, solve this display path before scanning channels.

What the result means: Visible menu: proceed to the receiver’s message. No menu: receiver/TV support, not dish work.

  2. Inspect the accessible reception connection

With power disconnected after any update finishes, inspect the indoor coax at SAT IN for looseness or visible damage. Keep its original routing; do not add a generic TV splitter. Stop for moisture, corrosion, broken insulation or shared-building wiring you are not authorized to alter.

What the result means: Reconnect only an intact original connection, then read the signal screen. Damage needs an installer.

  3. Check saved satellite and switch selection

Read Installation satellite settings for Astra 19.2°E and record signal strength/quality. For a multi-satellite installation, compare the saved DiSEqC port with the installer’s documented Astra port. Strong warns Astra 23.5°E can also show good bars: bars alone do not identify the correct satellite.

What the result means: Unknown wiring, wrong-satellite suspicion or persistently absent quality: ask the installer; do not guess LNB values or move a roof dish.

  4. Update the list only after reception is established

For missing TNTSAT channels with established reception, use Menu > Installation > Installation rapide (Quick Install) and OK. This refreshes the service list. Let automatic channel/software updates finish with power and antenna connected. Do not load firmware for SRT7407 or an unverified download.

What the result means: Still missing: record channel names and exact messages. Rights/expiry messages use the card guide; one affected broadcaster may need a service-status check.

When to stop and get help

Stop before roof access, dish movement, exposed electrical work or changes to communal wiring. Take persistent wrong-satellite/no-quality problems to an installer. Ask STRONG before a factory reset; it can erase saved settings and does not correct expired card rights.

What to tell support

Model/software, whether Menu appears, exact message, affected channels, signal strength/quality, saved Astra/DiSEqC selection and any recent weather or installation change. Do not publish card/receiver identifiers.

Common questions

Do green bars prove I am on Astra 19.2°E?

No. STRONG warns another satellite can produce a convincing signal reading. Verify the intended satellite and installed switching path; leave physical alignment to an installer.

Is Quick Install a factory reset?

No. The documented Quick Install updates the TNTSAT channel list. It is a different operation from restoring factory settings.

Should I scan immediately after a storm?

Wait until conditions are safe and reception returns. A new scan does not repair displaced hardware, water damage or an obstructed dish.
