TNTSAT SRT7408: expired card, encrypted channels or missing viewing rights

Check the correct TNTSAT card, its four-year rights and the SRT7408 consultation menu before replacing a receiver or adjusting a dish.

Applies to: STRONG SRT7408 with TNTSAT in metropolitan France or Monaco. Menu and insertion directions are not for SRT7407 FRANSAT or every other TNTSAT receiver.

What you seeWhat to do next
No receiver menu appearsCheck TV input and HDMI/SCART first; this does not diagnose the card.
Expiry warning or expired rightsRead the recorded date, then use TNTSAT’s official renewal.
Valid rights but card unreadableCheck the card identity and model-specific insertion; do not force or scrape it.

Work through these checks

  1. Confirm the service and exact model

Read SRT7408 on the label and TNTSAT on the card. FRANSAT cards and its 2026 HD transition are a separate service issue. Do not buy a replacement solely because a different service changed equipment.

What the result means: Different model/service: stop using these menu steps.

  2. Read rights and the recorded expiry

Open Menu > Carte à Puce > Consultation. Select TNTSAT and use the red button as described by STRONG to display the rights/date. Read the screen rather than calculating from the receiver purchase date.

What the result means: Expired date: renewal branch. No card information: insertion/readability branch. Valid date with rights error: record it for official support.

  3. Check readable insertion once

After any update finishes, put the receiver in standby before handling its card. On SRT7408 the gold contacts face down. Reinsert gently in the proper slot, wake the receiver and recheck Consultation. Do not bend the card, use solvents or try another service’s card.

What the result means: Still unreadable or slot damaged: stop and contact STRONG; resetting cannot repair damaged contacts.

  4. Renew only if the card is actually due

Use the official TNTSAT renewal page and its current price/eligibility. The manual describes 48 months from initial activation, subject to the card’s initialization deadline. Do not pay an unofficial caller to unlock channels or assume a reset renews access.

What the result means: Valid card still denied: ask official support to check rights, exact message and receiver software before buying hardware.

When to stop and get help

Stop for a jammed card, damaged slot, overheating or any unsafe access. No roof work, dish alignment or factory reset is needed just to read card validity. An unrecognized valid card or persistent rights error belongs with STRONG/TNTSAT support.

What to tell support

Exact model, software version, message, displayed expiry, affected channels and whether Consultation reads the card. Share unique card/receiver identifiers privately only with official support.

Common questions

Does a factory reset renew the card?

No. Receiver settings and the card’s access rights are separate. Resetting can lose configuration without extending the card.

Can I use a FRANSAT card instead?

Do not substitute services. SRT7408 is a TNTSAT receiver; SRT7407 and FRANSAT card instructions are different.

Will a new card fix No signal?

Not by itself. No signal concerns the reception path; investigate it separately from card authorization.
