Applies to: This is the original IsatDock PRO for the IsatPhone Pro handset, documented by USRMAN006104 revision 04, March 2014. It is not IsatDock2 PRO, IsatDock MARINE or an Iridium dock. Match the labels and installed handset firmware with authorized support; this historical manual does not establish current service or computer-software support.
Work through these checks
Separate registration from dock communication
STATUS green means the handset is registered and able to call; flashing green means a call is in progress. STATUS red means no registration/signal; alternating red/blue means an error communicating with the docked IsatPhone Pro. MUTE steady red means uplink audio is muted, while flashing yellow means RJ11/POTS is in use. Record the lamp name as well as its colour and timing.
What the result means: Your support record now distinguishes a registration problem from a handset-to-dock communication error. Neither calls for a guessed firmware update.
Identify the existing audio endpoint
Check which endpoint was already selected. Lifting the privacy handset routes audio there; the speakerphone button can also control call state, so do not press it casually during an active call. A flashing-yellow MUTE light identifies RJ11/POTS use rather than microphone mute. Record endpoint, MUTE state and whether one or both parties lost audio without interrupting another operator.
What the result means: The report identifies the actual endpoint and mute state, so silence is not confused with an unregistered handset or the wrong speaker being monitored.
Compare timed sleep with rapid cycling
A regular shutdown after twenty minutes is a documented sleep branch when the ignition/accessory input is absent or held low. That is different from rapid repeated on/off cycling. Record the elapsed time and whether the dock and phone shut down together; ask the installer to check the existing power/accessory installation. Do not bridge wires or modify the supply as a test.
What the result means: The installer receives a measured interval and can distinguish the accessory-input sleep branch from unstable power or a different fault.
When to stop and get help
Do not force a handset that does not seat correctly, disconnect powered antenna cables, bypass the lock or rewire the accessory input. Do not send remote configuration commands, install historical firmware or reset the dock. Damaged connectors, overheating or repeated rapid power cycling require authorized service.
What to tell support
Privately save exact dock/handset identity, installed firmware version, named LED pattern, selected audio endpoint and elapsed shutdown time. Include the handset’s registration message and what changed before the fault. Share identifiers only with authorized support; preserve settings and existing logs.
