KING One Pro 23435 Rev C: scan, picture and AUX evidence

A receiver-first diagnostic guide for the exact post-November-2020 KOP4800 DISH legacy manual, with its receiver exclusions and contradictory steady-red chart kept explicit.

Applies to: This page follows KING manual 23435 Rev C for KOP4800 units manufactured on or after 16 November 2020. Its cover is specifically for DISH receivers other than Wally, ViP211z, ViP211k, ViP211 and 411. Those receivers, earlier units, Bell and DIRECTV require different manuals. Check the base manufacturing label and receiver model; this 2021 manual is not confirmation of current service eligibility or channel availability.

Work through these checks

  1. Locate the failed stage

Separate no scan from a scan without a picture. If the antenna does not scan, record power-inserter activity and the installed MAIN/ANT/REC labels for the installer. If it scans, the receiver-to-TV connection and receiver-reported acquisition remain separate checks. A lit inserter is not proof that the TV is displaying the receiver input or that a subscription is authorized.

What the result means: The report separates antenna motion, local signal path and TV display before any parts are replaced.

  2. Confirm receiver-side acquisition

Use the existing receiver satellite-information or diagnostic screen to record which satellites it actually reports. Record the whole inserter pattern, but do not translate steady red into a success or failure verdict because this source contradicts itself. Note trees, structures or severe weather from a safe position; do not infer present-day channel availability from the manual’s historical orbital list.

What the result means: Support receives the receiver observations and unresolved lamp meaning, without relying on steady red alone.

  3. Compare main and AUX receivers

If the main receiver works but AUX loses only some programming, record what the main receiver was showing when the loss occurred. The manual says the second receiver follows the satellite selected by the main receiver; a change on the main can remove the second receiver’s previous satellite. That is not an independently steerable second dish. Preserve the observation instead of resetting either receiver during another viewer’s use.

What the result means: A main-dependent AUX symptom is documented separately from a failure affecting the whole antenna system.

When to stop and get help

Keep the vehicle stationary and people clear of the antenna. Do not open the dome, climb onto the roof, move a roof-mounted antenna, bypass the power inserter or disconnect powered coax. Do not run reset/check-switch procedures copied from another receiver manual. Damaged cables, wet electrical connections or abnormal motion require qualified service.

What to tell support

Privately save manufacturing label, receiver model, existing mode, full LED sequence, receiver-reported acquisition, affected TV and any main/AUX difference. Include weather and recent wiring changes for qualified support.
