Applies to: HN7000S only, original 1037073-0001 Revision D, 13 August 2007. The shared manual also covers HN7700S; its extra ports and backup functions are excluded. Historical software, allowance and portal examples do not establish current activation or terms.
Work through these checks
Separate local access from satellite access
On an already connected authorised computer, open the existing System Control Center. Revision D documents 192.168.0.1 as the numeric local address; do not change a managed network to force it. View System Info and preserve model and software privately. A local page can respond when internet access fails.
What the result means: A responding console establishes a local management path, not active satellite service. A missing page is a different branch from a visible receive or transmit error.
Compare named status fields and LEDs
View Reception Info and Transmission Info without starting tests. The manual identifies Receiver operational (RxCode 5) and Transmitter ready (TxCode 8); record other codes with full wording. Compare the same-time LAN, RECEIVE, TRANSMIT, SYSTEM and POWER pattern. TRANSMIT blinking mostly off is ranging, not ordinary data activity; flashing POWER identifies backup software.
What the result means: Receive, transmit and local Ethernet findings are separate. Give the exact code and time to the provider instead of inferring antenna alignment or replacement needs from one lamp.
Read acceleration and allowance in context
Read System Status details: TCP Acceleration Status, Web Acceleration Status and any FAP field. In Revision D, HTTPS browsing may leave Web Acceleration inactive and a bypass can make the button yellow; this does not justify visiting insecure HTTP as a test. Orange/FAP is the historical allowance branch, not proof of today’s policy. Preserve values without restarting, disabling acceleration or changing security.
What the result means: Support can distinguish satellite-path failure from degraded or historically limited performance. The 2007 allowance duration and old portals are not current entitlement or recovery promises.
When to stop and get help
Stop for damage, water or overheating and use qualified service. Do not move powered coax or the rear DC plug, open the terminal, repoint, recommission, restart, alter networking or run connectivity tests. Current restrictions and service availability require the actual provider.
What to tell support
Privately retain model, software, fault time, local-page result, named LED patterns, status colour and full Receive/Transmit codes and wording. Include existing TCP/Web Acceleration and FAP fields if displayed. Site ID, serials, addresses and account details are for authorised support.
