Kymeta u8 terminal / u8 ODU · Exact manual and safe first checks

Kymeta u8 terminal / u8 ODU · 700-00121-000 rev G · 17 May 2021

Applies to: Kymeta u8 terminal / u8 ODU · 700-00121-000 rev G · 17 May 2021

Work through these checks

  1. 01 · 700-00121-000 rev G / Kymeta Access

Match the u8 terminal or u8 ODU to 700-00121-000 rev G, dated 17 May 2021; do not apply this guide to later u8 products automatically. Read status only through an already available authorized interface or the existing Kymeta Access app. Stay outside the antenna's RF exclusion area. Do not open the shroud, climb to inspect lights, change transmit settings, reset or update firmware for this check.

  2. 02 · READY / RX LOCK / TX ENABLED / CONNECTED / Multi-WAN

Record the subsystem and exact state. For the satellite modem, READY means booted with LNB detected; RX LOCK, TX ENABLED and CONNECTED are different stages. A green Multi-WAN indicator can mean NO SERVICE or DISABLED, not working internet. Record whether the existing connection is Admin Wi-Fi or Internet Wi-Fi; an IP-address mismatch alone does not prove a satellite fault. Save the status and installed version for support without changing network settings.

When to stop and get help

Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.

What to tell support

Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything. Kymeta u8 terminal / u8 ODU · 700-00121-000 rev G · 17 May 2021
