Work through these checks

  1. Check local access first

The guide opens the console through a LAN connection to the BDU. A working local console does not prove Internet service. Use the installed address and authorized credentials; historical defaults may have changed.

What the result means: Record model, time, local access result, registration message, CS/PS/GPS icon states and data-connection state. Share credentials and location only privately with support.

  2. Separate registration from data activation

Startup registration includes GPS acquisition and satellite tracking and may take several minutes. The documented registered-but-no-active-data message allows voice/SMS but still lacks a data connection. Record this state; do not start a billed session simply to test it.

What the result means: Use authorized access and preserve installed network, firewall and radio-silence settings. Do not activate chargeable data or calls as a test, reset the terminal or approach a transmitting antenna.

  3. Read the labeled status indicators

Orange means active and grey inactive. CS describes circuit-switched voice/SMS/fax; PS describes packet service; GPS indicates a fix. Setup > Terminal Info shows signal, temperature, GPS, pointing angle and registration. Record these alongside the data state: one orange icon is not proof that every service works. Preserve radio silence rather than toggling it.

What the result means: Record model, time, local access result, registration message, CS/PS/GPS icon states and data-connection state. Share credentials and location only privately with support.

When to stop and get help

Use authorized access and preserve installed network, firewall and radio-silence settings. Do not activate chargeable data or calls as a test, reset the terminal or approach a transmitting antenna.
