Applies to: Manhattan Plaza DS•100A, original 38-page User Guide with v1.2 printed on the final page. No publication date is identified in the document; the download folder date is not a hardware revision. Its SCART and external-recorder instructions do not apply automatically to Plaza HD-S, HDR-S, DS-100 or current receiver services. Historical channels and interactive-service examples do not prove current availability.
Work through these checks
Compare the existing television and recorder paths
Use the visible existing picture and installed labels first. The no-picture/no-sound branch in the troubleshooting table points to SCART connection and the selected television input; a displayed No signal message is a different dish/reception branch. If a recording failed, compare the original receiver programme reminder with the separate recorder’s event timer, selected SCART input and result. Page 21 requires both schedules and says channel lists, programme guide, interactive services and menus also appear in the recording if used during capture. Do not open menus during another active recording, rewire, retune or start a replacement recording to test this.
What the result means: A receiver reminder alone does not prove the external recorder was scheduled or captured the correct input. Preserve both devices’ evidence before changing either.
Compare the shutdown timing without changing power settings
Compare the original stop time with the last remote or front-panel button use. Page 26 documents Auto Standby after three hours without either, normally enabled; page 37 lists the same three-hour symptom. When no recording is active, read the existing General > Auto Standby value without saving a change. That setting is evidence of a possible programmed transition, not proof that every power loss has the same cause. If the interval, power lamp or symptoms differ, report them separately to support. For a safely accessible unit note visible cable damage without opening it or changing the mains lead.
What the result means: Support receives the actual idle interval and configured standby state, separated from unexplained loss of power or satellite reception.
When to stop and get help
Stop before live cable changes, opening equipment, dish access, Freesat Installation or Factory Default. Installation removes favourite memberships and locks and restores deleted channels; Factory Default deletes channels, favourites, reminders and configuration. Do not change schedules, output modes or Auto Standby just to provoke a test. Refer unsafe cabling or dish work to the installer.
What to tell support
Give support receiver/recorder labels, the selected TV and recorder inputs, original channel/date/time, receiver reminder and recorder timer/result, plus idle interval and existing Auto Standby setting. When no capture is active, the main-menu Information page supplies receiver identification and configured postcode; it is not the HD-S signal/lock screen. Keep postcode and viewing history private.
