LT-4200: Secondary Data Flow checks

A Secondary Data Flow uses a separately provisioned network path. Missing data arrows or a working ordinary LAN connection alone cannot diagnose that path.

Applies to: LT-4200 Certus 200; actual manual cover 95-102665 Rev 1.01, software 1.01R. URL filename says Rev 1.02. Not LT-4100 or LT-4200S.

Work through these checks

  1. Confirm the provisioned flow

Available flows require provider provisioning, an inserted SIM and Iridium connection. An empty list alone does not identify a hardware fault.

What the result means: Record flow name, enabled state, observed time and affected client. Keep network details private and ask the service provider to confirm provisioning.

  2. Check the client path

Compare the installed VLAN and gateway with the authorized network plan. SDF VLANs have no terminal DHCP; caching DNS and firewall/port forwarding are unavailable on SDF.

What the result means: Use authorized read-only checks. Preserve VLAN, subnet and security policy; do not enable a new flow or generate paid traffic to test it.

  3. Interpret indicators and capacity

SDF does not show GUI data arrows. Enabled provisioned flows stay active and share the Certus 200 total capacity with background IP; extra flows do not multiply bandwidth.

What the result means: Record flow name, enabled state, observed time and affected client. Keep network details private and ask the service provider to confirm provisioning.

When to stop and get help
