Viasat Wi-Fi Gateway 3

Gateway 3 support, power-adapter path and separate Wi-Fi versus satellite checks.

Confirm your model

Confirm Wi-Fi Gateway 3 on the unit. The older Viasat Wi-Fi Gateway has a different light chart and connection arrangement.

How it connects

  1. Installed satellite system Installed feed
  2. Network Power Adapter Ethernet to WAN
  3. Wi-Fi Gateway 3
Simplified signal path, not an installation or rewiring diagram. Follow the linked manual for power connections, grounding and your exact hardware revision.

The installed satellite feed reaches a separate Network Power Adapter, then Ethernet runs to the Gateway 3 WAN port. Check both devices’ power and the router-side Ethernet before changing any installed coax.

Lights and messages

  • Record the Gateway 3 status lights and whether the Wi-Fi network appears. Use Viasat’s Gateway 3 FAQ for the matching light meanings.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • Confirm replacement Gateway 3 or Network Power Adapter through Viasat. A generic Wi-Fi extender cannot repair an offline satellite link.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.

Model-specific parts: start with the official source

Confirm the exact model and part number with the manufacturer or provider before buying any replacement part or accessory.
