Match your symptom
| What you see | What to do next |
|---|---|
| No menu or front display | Start with power and TV input, not the dish. |
| Menu works, some channels missing | Check selected channel list and provider status. |
| Blocks, freezes or “kein Signal” | Record weather and signal reading; limit checks to safe indoor cable. |
Work through these checks
Establish picture and power
The manual’s troubleshooting table separates an unlit front display, missing HDMI picture and reception faults. Verify the supplied external power adapter is seated, wake the receiver and select its HDMI input on the TV. If another TV input works, this does not prove the receiver is at fault. A visible TechniSat menu means the TV video path is working; do not buy an LNB for a blank TV input.
What the result means: If the menu appears, continue with channel checks.
Separate list, subscription and broadcast
Compare a free-to-air channel with the affected channel. The official table says missing entries can result from the wrong program list; previously working channels can also move to another transponder or end transmission. Note the selected list and exact message before considering a scan. If only HD+ or encrypted channels fail, check entitlement with the provider; the S6 HD+ includes a card reader, but a card problem is not proof of dish failure.
What the result means: Avoid a blind full scan that could change a carefully arranged channel list.
Escalate real signal faults
For blocks, freezes or “kein Signal,” record the receiver’s signal reading and weather. Heavy rain, snow and obstruction are listed in the manual. Check only a dry, reachable indoor coax connector with power off. If all channels remain unavailable, stop and ask a qualified installer to measure the feed and compare the original antenna, LNB and distribution configuration. The manual also lists an LNB-feed short circuit; do not probe powered coax or replace an LNB by guesswork.
What the result means: Leave roof work, motor settings, LNB voltage and dish alignment to a qualified installer.
When to stop and get help
Stop for damaged power equipment, wet coax, roof access, antenna movement or uncertain electrical measurements. Never use the manual’s flash reset as a first test: it erases personal settings.

Common questions
Does no HDMI picture mean the dish is broken?
No. The manual lists unsupported HDMI resolution and power separately from reception. Check TV input and receiver menu first.
Should I flash-reset the receiver?
Not for an initial diagnosis. TechniSat warns that this resets personal settings. Preserve the current configuration and ask support when ordinary checks fail.
