Work through these checks
Separate send from receive
Confirm the label says Mini 2, your service is active, the outgoing message shows sent and the other person actually replied. A pending outgoing message needs the separate sending guide.
What the result means: Only then investigate reception.
Find safe open sky
Garmin requires a clear sky view while checking. At a safe spot, step away from dense trees and overhangs and point the antenna upward. Do not climb or leave a safe route.
What the result means: A reply may wait for the next check when sky view is blocked.
Check for Messages once
On the Mini 2 home page, scroll through widget glances with up/down and select Check for Messages (called Message Check in some manuals). Keep clear sky during the check. If nothing arrives, record the result and ask Garmin support about the missing reply.
What the result means: Do not use SOS as a message test.
When to stop and get help
Routine messages can be delayed. For urgent help, follow Garmin’s SOS instructions or contact local emergency services. Do not change SOS settings to test reception.
What to tell support
Mini 2 model, subscription, sent status, expected reply time, sky view and manual-check result.
Common questions
Does it receive continuously?
No. Garmin says ten minutes after a send, then normally hourly or at the tracking interval. Manual checking is available.
Does phone internet prove receipt?
No. The Mini 2 still needs a clear satellite view for its own message check.
