Pairing a phone does not activate satellite service. Confirm an active subscription and perform the ordinary device test outdoors before a trip. Never use SOS as a test.

Lights and messages

  • Distinguish a queued message, an active transmission and confirmed delivery. A phone’s connection icon alone does not prove a satellite message was delivered.
  • Dry the USB port and weather cap before charging. Check the manual’s charging-temperature limits if charging does not start.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • Match mounts and charging accessories to Mini 2. Keep its antenna view clear and the SOS cover protected; a mount is not a remedy for inactive service.
