Work through these checks
Prove the television connection
Turn on both devices and select the TV input connected to the receiver. Try MENU. The manual describes green receiver LED when powered on; no lights needs a safe check of the supplied power connection. A working menu lets you move to channel diagnostics.
What the result means: A TV input problem is separate from satellite reception.
Check accessible SAT IN cable
With power disconnected, trace the indoor cable to SAT IN. Look for a loose connection or damaged plug without pulling the wall cable or overtightening it. Stop for corrosion, a bent center conductor or inaccessible roof wiring. Reconnect power only after cables are secure.
What the result means: Do not open the receiver or adjust the outdoor dish.
Preserve the installed antenna configuration
View existing satellite, LNB and DiSEqC/SCR/dCSS settings before changing anything. A communal or single-cable system can need an assigned user band. Use the installer’s record and matching LNB instructions; do not copy another home’s frequencies or switch every system to Universal.
What the result means: Unknown installation data is a reason to ask the installer.
Separate access from signal
If a free-to-air channel works but a tivùsat channel does not, record the access message and check activation through official tivùsat support. For the linked SRT7807 manual, the card chip faces down; confirm your revision before reseating gently. Do not post the card number publicly or force it.
What the result means: One working channel does not verify every transponder or subscription.
Retest without a destructive reset
If a normal restart is needed, avoid interrupting an active software update. Retest the same channels and menu. Factory reset can discard a useful channel list and installation settings; keep it out of the first diagnostic pass.
What the result means: Keep a repeatable before/after comparison.
When to stop and get help
Use a qualified installer for roof access, dish alignment, damaged coax or unknown shared-system settings. Stop immediately for wet or damaged power equipment. Never open the receiver cover.
What to tell support
Exact model/revision, error wording, MENU result, affected channels, recent cable or installation change and a private copy of existing antenna settings.
Common questions
Can I use any splitter?
No. Shared satellite systems depend on the LNB and assigned user-band design. Confirm the installation before buying or adding a splitter.
Does Ethernet replace the dish feed?
No. SAT IN is the satellite feed. A network connection is a separate function and does not prove that satellite channels are being received.
