Astro Ulti Box

Confirm your model

Read the Ulti Box label and confirm the delivery service on your Astro order. Ulti is the HD model, distinct from Ultra’s UHD model. Use the Plug & Play activation guide only for that ordered service, and SCNA reception checks only for an installed satellite feed.

How it connects

For a new Plug & Play setup, choose the delivery option named in the order and connect the box to your home internet by LAN or Wi-Fi. Validate the connection on screen. If the box cannot reach the router, use the local NCNA/network guide. If the router connects but internet fails on other devices too, investigate the broadband connection first. Strong Wi-Fi bars alone do not establish internet access or paid channel rights.

Lights and messages

• A visible setup screen proves that the television is receiving an image from the box; it does not prove that the account is activated. Match the Astro SIM to this box using the serial numbers in the delivery letter. The box and SIM can arrive separately. Keep the letter, SIM details and tracking numbers private, and ask Astro about a mismatch before trying another household’s card.
• Ulti uses cloud recording rather than a user-replaceable local recording disk. Check the subscription, network and programme availability before treating a missing recording as a failed hard drive. Do not format a USB device or erase recordings as an activation test.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

• Stop for damaged power leads, overheating, liquid or inaccessible wiring. Do not open the receiver or disturb its warranty seal. No rooftop work is needed for internet-only Plug & Play. Do not change LNB values, flash an unrelated firmware file, buy a dish or remove the SIM repeatedly to clear an activation error.
