Nera WorldPhone · Exact manual and safe first checks

Nera WorldPhone · TPU · Portable / Provident / Marine / Voyager · ©2000

Applies to: Nera WorldPhone · TPU · Portable / Provident / Marine / Voyager · ©2000

Work through these checks

  1. 01 · TPU

Identify the existing Telephone Unit (TPU), antenna configuration and power-supply arrangement. Marine/Voyager have a separate supply to distinguish from the TPU; do not transfer Portable/Provident assumptions. Record the exact existing message, including Not available or Subscriber busy. A busy called party, uncommissioned service and an unsuccessful satellite search are different findings. Do not move the antenna, change cables or make test calls.

  2. 02 · PIN / PUK / FAX / DATA

Phone PIN and the SIM’s PUK are different controls; do not guess codes or reset ownership credentials. Record existing FAX/data-port assignments and the PC/TPU serial rate privately from available records. Local port or rate mismatch differs from network commissioning. Do not reconfigure ports, adjust oscillator compensation, reset or update firmware to test this legacy equipment.

When to stop and get help

Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.

What to tell support

Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything. Nera WorldPhone · TPU · Portable / Provident / Marine / Voyager · ©2000
