Evolution X3 iDX 3.3: STATUS, receiver lock and network

Interpret the exact release’s LED stages on an already commissioned X3: hardware state, carrier/NCR lock, network acquisition and transmitter policy.

Applies to: Evolution X3 hardware and installed iDX 3.3 LED meanings only. Hardware: E0000451-0001 Rev C, 27 June 2008; LEDs: T0000611 Rev A, 31 July 2014. Earlier tables differ. Confirm the installed release with the operator; these archives do not establish current activation or firmware compatibility.

Work through these checks

  1. Read POWER and STATUS for the confirmed release

Use the X3 label and operator’s existing release record. In iDX 3.3, read POWER and STATUS together: green STATUS is normal, off includes power-off or DRAM test, and flashing green means DRAM test failure. Red has several documented fault categories. Preserve any startup or update underway; do not restart to reproduce a pattern.

What the result means: Valid power and normal operation are separate observations. Release identity determines the STATUS meaning; the 2008 hardware LED table is not the table used for this branch.

  2. Separate receiver lock from network acquisition

Observe RX and NET without changing the installation. RX yellow means no carrier lock; flashing yellow carrier lock without NCR lock; green both locks. NET flashing green at two-second intervals indicates those locks, while one-second intervals mean acquisition in progress. Steady NET green means in-network. Record cadence and time rather than treating every green flash as a completed connection.

What the result means: Receiver lock can precede network membership. Give the operator each named lamp, colour and cadence; one light does not justify antenna or firmware intervention.

  3. Read TX with the same-time STATUS and NET

In this table TX off with green STATUS means the transmitter is configured off. TX yellow means enabled but muted; green means enabled and not muted. Keep the operator’s existing configuration and any planned mute. Do not unmute, change options, send a test carrier or create application traffic merely to complete this report.

What the result means: A documented configured-off or muted state differs from a failed component. Even in-network and unmuted do not prove an application exchange. The operator needs the complete existing pattern and event context.

When to stop and get help

Preserve working communications and any startup/update underway. Leave powered RF, antenna, console, options and security unchanged. Damage, persistent faults or uncertain release mapping require the operator and qualified service; do not use commissioning or power tests as owner diagnostics.

What to tell support

Privately retain X3 label, confirmed release, event time, named POWER/STATUS/RX/TX/NET colours and exact flashing cadence, plus known maintenance context. Keep photographs and site identifiers private; do not publish credentials, addresses or configuration files.
