IntelliDOCK 9555: Bluetooth paired but call audio is elsewhere

The cradle pairs the audio headset. A half-bright blue Bluetooth light indicates pairing; slow blue flashing accompanies a call. An off-hook privacy handset takes audio priority.

Applies to: IntelliDOCK 9555 / 9555ID, USRMAN004806 revision 06, December 2015, printed pages 23,26–29. Original 9555; not IsatDock or 9575. New USB-C 9555 compatibility requires confirmation.

Work through these checks

  1. Pair through the cradle

Ready system: hold cradle Bluetooth 5 seconds until two beeps; blue/orange flashing is discovery. Put the headset in its own pairing mode. Success changes the cradle light to half-bright blue. Keep other headsets off while pairing.

What the result means: Holding 10 seconds clears all stored devices; do not use that as pairing.

  2. Check the privacy handset

Lifted privacy handset takes priority. Return it to its cup to route an ongoing Bluetooth call back to the headset. A ringing dock does not tell you which device carries answered audio.

What the result means: Park safely. End calls before pairing. Do not clear stored devices, change firmware or rewire the installed system as a first test.

  3. Read mute and earpiece state

During a call, red Mute means your uplink is muted; one Mute press exits. Flashing orange Mute indicates Earpiece-Jack Mode: one Mute press returns to Bluetooth. Outside a call, Mute changes ringer volume instead.

What the result means: Record lights, active call state and which accessory hears audio for support.

When to stop and get help
