Applies to: Original HUMAX FOXSAT-HDR, using the 107-page manual whose final code is 20000-00091PT / ROHS/MANUAL/FOXSATHDR/100GB. The copyright is 2008; no separate printed revision date was identified. The document code is not a claim about installed disk capacity. This is not FOXSAT-HD, HDR-1000S, HDR-1100S or modified firmware.
Work through these checks
Locate the existing recording in the right library
Open MEDIA and read the selected category: Video is recorded TV, Radio is recorded radio, while Music and Photo are different lists. In Video, check whether the displayed location is the internal HDD or an already attached USB device; the original guide describes the red control for changing that view. Read the selected file’s information with i. Do not enter File Manager, delete, copy or attach a new device for this check.
What the result means: A file found under another media type or storage location explains its absence from the first view. A readable filename is not proof that its whole programme was captured. If the original storage is unreadable, preserve that exact error rather than accepting a format prompt.
Distinguish a reservation from a recorded file
Read GUIDE → Schedule using the yellow Schedule control. It lists reserved programmes; the manual distinguishes reservation modes Record and Watch. Record only an already visible mode or previously saved details, without opening an edit that must be confirmed. The manual says reservations for past programmes or deleted channels are automatically removed, and reservations are unavailable in non-freesat mode. Do not recreate or change a timer to test a missing historical entry.
What the result means: A Watch reservation is not a request to record. An empty historical Schedule is not proof that no reservation ever existed, and a reservation is not a completed file. Compare existing records with the media library before blaming reception or disk hardware.
Match simultaneous limits to the installed feeds
Use only the already known installation record or safe visible labels. GB16 describes two satellite cables for different-channel viewing/recording and two recordings, but a single-cable loop-through setup limits the second channel available while recording. Record the original overlap, selected channels and any exact full-disk or recording error already observed. Do not add a splitter, move leads, stop another recording or make a new recording to reproduce it.
What the result means: A restriction occurring only during another recording can fit the documented feed limit and is not by itself a failed tuner. A full-disk message is a separate storage finding. Give support the existing overlap and installation evidence while preserving recordings and timers; no single observation proves which component needs replacement.
When to stop and get help
Stop before any format, deletion, reset, disk replacement, timer edit or live cable work. Do not interrupt an active disk operation or disconnect storage. A disk error, unreadable original library or unresolved reception fault needs qualified service with recordings preserved; do not guess a PIN or overwrite a recording as a test.
What to tell support
Privately record model/manual code, programme/channel/time, chosen Video or Radio list, displayed HDD/USB device, visible file information, reservation mode and exact error. Include only the already known feed arrangement and simultaneous activity; protect personal programme history and file names.
