Work through these checks
Lost antenna: follow the antenna cable path
The control unit has lost its link to the antenna unit. From a safe accessible location, look for visible damage along that cable path and record recent installation work. This is a local unit-to-unit link alert, not proof that moving the antenna will restore service. Ask the installer to inspect the connection under the required power isolation.
Lost handset: keep the fault on the handset branch
This alert concerns the handset-to-control-unit link and voice availability. Record whether the display and other functions remain available, then visually inspect the accessible handset cable. Do not replace the satellite antenna or alter network settings on this alert alone. Have the authorized technician handle any reconnection or damaged connector.
Lost connection: compare the sky obstruction
This caution means the terminal has not detected or contacted the Iridium satellites for at least one minute. Check the antenna’s sky view without climbing or approaching unsafe machinery. Note nearby obstructions and whether the alert follows a particular vessel position. Remove a movable obstruction only when safe and permitted; record whether satellite detection returns. Persistent loss needs service support, not repeated resets.
When to stop and get help
Stop at damaged wiring, water ingress or an unsafe access route. Do not disconnect live equipment, open enclosures or bypass the vessel’s protection.
What to tell support
For support, preserve the complete title, description and ID, first occurrence, recurrence, software version, affected cable path, recent work and any position-dependent change. Report observations rather than assuming a component has failed.
