ELSYS SATMAX 5 remote: learn TV power and volume

Use the ETRS70 intelligent remote’s SET procedure and verify each learned television command without resetting the receiver.

Applies to: ELSYS SATMAX 5, model ETRS70, in an existing Brazilian installation. Match the label and the service shown by the receiver. SATMAX PLUS and SATMAX 6 are different models; do not install their files or treat an activation message as proof of a broken receiver.

Work through these checks

  1. Match the intelligent remote

Confirm that receiver channel/menu buttons still work, then test a television key separately. The supplied intelligent remote has a programmable TV group; copying a TV command is different from pairing the receiver or changing its channel list. Match the SET key and layout shown in the ETRS70 guide before starting.

What the result means: Leave antenna alignment, LNBF selection and shared cabling to a qualified installer. Do not erase the channel list, format a USB drive, flash another model’s firmware or open the receiver for an authorization fault. Stop for damage, water or overheating. Use the original matching power supply; physical repairs belong with authorized service.

  2. Teach one television command

Hold SET for three seconds until the red light brightens. Press the TV-group key you want to teach; its light flashes. Face the original television remote toward the SATMAX remote within 3 cm, and press the matching original TV key. Three quick flashes confirm that command. Follow the guide again for each required TV key; press SET to finish and turn the light off.

  3. Leave learning and test separately

After leaving learning mode, aim at the television and try the learned key once. Then aim at the receiver and check a normal menu/channel key. If the receiver works but the learned TV key does not, repeat only that key using working batteries and the original TV remote. A Bluetooth-only TV command cannot be assumed to supply the infrared command this learning procedure needs.

Common questions

Should I factory-reset the box to fix TV volume?

No. A failed learned TV command is a remote-control issue, not evidence that the receiver’s satellite settings must be erased. First compare a receiver key with the learned television key and follow the matching remote procedure.
