Applies to: Bell 9200 HD PVR Plus, original Chapter 2 with May 2005 print footer. These historical output and mode descriptions are not current activation, channel or external-storage approval. Do not transfer them to 9241, 9242 or Fibe receivers.
Work through these checks
Read the existing mode without changing it
Read the Single/Dual front lamp and any mode label on an already visible menu. Single sends the same programme to connected TVs; TV2 favourites and locks are unavailable in that mode, not erased. Dual allows separate programmes but TV2 is always SD. A matching picture or missing TV2 list can therefore follow the current mode rather than signal loss. Do not press MODE to test this.
Separate output failure from the control path
Identify green-number Remote1 for nearby TV1 and blue-number Remote2 for remote TV2. In Dual Mode, a remote aimed at the wrong viewing path need not control the expected menu. Remote2 uses UHF Pro for the receiver but infrared for the television itself. Compare an existing TV1 menu and TV2 symptom with their current labelled output route; a working TV1 path does not prove the home-coax/RCA TV2 path is working. Record the installed UHF antenna from visible records without moving it or reprogramming addresses.
When to stop and get help
Stop before MODE, remote-address programming, rescanning, storage changes or live cabling. MODE can disrupt someone using TV2. If physical damage or unsafe wiring is present, refer it to the installer.
What to tell support
Keep model, current mode, room/output, remote number, visible menu/programme, TV input or existing RF channel, record lamps and exact symptom/time privately for support.
