GPSMAP 67i

Button-operated inReach navigation handheld with multi-band positioning, USB-C and Wi-Fi map downloads. Satellite imagery in Map Manager is downloaded map data, not broadband delivered over Iridium.

Confirm your model

Check 67i, not GPSMAP 67 without i. GNSS multi-band settings affect positioning; they do not enable an inReach plan. MENU twice opens the main menu.

How it connects

  1. Iridium for messages; GNSS for navigation Clear sky and active inReach subscription
  2. GPSMAP 67i Bluetooth app connection; Wi-Fi for supported downloads
  3. Paired phone and Garmin apps
Simplified signal path, not an installation or rewiring diagram. Follow the linked manual for power connections, grounding and your exact hardware revision.

GNSS positioning and inReach transmission are different services. A working map or GPS fix does not prove an active satellite messaging plan. Download maps on ordinary internet before travel, then perform the device’s Communications Test outside.

Lights and messages

  • Communications Test requires a received confirmation, not just a sent status or GNSS signal bars.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • Use a compatible USB-C cable and dry the port. Check free storage before map downloads; Outdoor Maps+ premium maps and the inReach messaging subscription are separate purchases.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
