Work through these checks
01 · DTVS Smart1 · original C350-0003 manual
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · RCU signal status / Network status / Power status / Signal / Quality / Status information / System information / INFORMATION / Factory reset / Extract channel data / ETHERNET / RS-232 / LNB
For the original DTVS Smart1, use the complete 36-page English User Manual, rear code C350-0003, on the DTV Solutions New Zealand site. No printed publication date or revision is established; forum dates are not the manual edition. This is one satellite receiver, not SMART1R, DTVS-1B or a software/component credit. Observe existing authorized displays only. RCU signal status lights for received remote commands, Network status for a network connection, and Power status for power; none proves satellite reception or application internet access, and the manual assigns no LED colors. The program banner separately labels Signal (red) and Quality (blue); do not reverse them or treat power as quality. TV/Radio, satellite, favorite, HD/SD and FTA/Scrambled list filters can hide stored services. Status information shows area, time, weather and recent apps, not an RF lock test. Keep private data in these screens hidden. Read existing System information under INFORMATION only; do not select adjacent firmware/channel upgrades or Extract channel data. Factory reset irreversibly erases personal data, accounts, settings and downloaded apps; do not select it. Do not pair remotes, scan, edit/delete channels, change LNB/DiSEqC/USALS, move the dish, change network/display/PIN settings, install apps, format storage, reboot or reset as first tests. Do not disturb power during an update or file transfer already underway. Distinguish ETHERNET from RS-232 and LNB: the first is networking, the second serial, the third satellite input. Do not reconnect live cables, alter supplies or perform battery work; arrange qualified safe isolation for damage before cable inspection. Preserve redacted existing evidence only. Historical Android, web, IPTV, Freeview and codec descriptions guarantee no current app, network or broadcast compatibility.
When to stop and get help
Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.
What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
