Cignal Arion ARS-N210S: standby, missing video, sound or poor reception

A legacy SD model-specific check that keeps front-panel state, TV composite connections and satellite signal evidence separate, using the original provider manual.

Applies to: This is the Cignal-branded Arion ARS-N210S standard-definition satellite receiver, not the GIEC HD model. Match the front and rear labels to the original Cignal-hosted folded manual. We identified no printed date or revision; the file metadata is not treated as a hardware revision. Historical menus do not establish current channel availability or account eligibility.

Work through these checks

  1. Identify the actual front state

Red STANDBY means standby, while that lamp being off is normal during operation. Record SIGNAL and IR separately. If necessary, use the labelled front On/Standby control to leave standby and see whether MENU appears. A yellow IR response shows remote activity but does not establish a tuned channel. If no front indication or menu appears, retain the power-source label and observed state for support instead of opening the unit.

  2. Separate video from audio

Compare the selected TV input with the yellow VIDEO lead and the separate red/white audio leads. The manual lists standby, loose A/V connection and the wrong TV input under No video; No Sound additionally includes mute and zero volume. If a picture is already visible, check the existing mute/volume state on both devices before treating the dish as the cause. Do not press the VIDEO format control blindly when no screen can confirm the result.

  3. Read the reception evidence

For poor picture quality, the manual directs the user to signal strength in INSTALLATION and the LNB cable. If the menu is visible and authorized access is already available, record the existing signal indication and whether SIGNAL is green; leave LNB Setup, Transponder and stored values unchanged. The initial setup has separate LNB, transponder and Signal Lock screens, so restarting it is not a harmless refresh. Give the installer the readings, affected channel and whether menus/audio work.

When to stop and get help

Stop for moisture, damaged power leads, a dropped unit or a marked change in behaviour. Do not open the enclosure, run an unverified USB update or overwrite the LNB/transponder setup to clear a symptom. This guide does not approve smart-card replacement, activation or another receiver’s remote.

What to tell support

Keep model label, named LED states, TV input, A/V route, mute/volume observations, exact affected channel and existing signal reading. Note recent cable or TV changes. Share card/account details only privately with Cignal support; do not publish identifiers or guess entitlement from a green SIGNAL lamp.
