Applies to: Campingman Portable 3, article 1500191, original Version 1.1 January 2023. Not Portable ECO, ECO 2 or another Campingman revision. The manual forbids mounting this portable antenna on a vehicle. Its historical satellite list does not guarantee current channels, subscriptions or coverage.
Work through these checks
Separate search from satellite found
Read the named Search, Reception and Error lamps from the original attempt. Version 1.1 describes green flashing Search, orange Reception after the selected satellite is found and red Error when it is not found. A lit Bluetooth lamp only shows the local app link. Record the selected satellite label without changing it. Standby is the documented ordinary on/off control; turning the controller on starts automatic acquisition of the last selected satellite. Preserve the original observations first. Normal operation requires safe ground placement and people clear of the moving antenna, with no update in progress; this is not a request to change satellites or start repeated diagnostic cycles.
What the result means: Found satellite, unsuccessful search and local app disconnection are separate branches. STOW has no function on this portable model; its button is not a remedy for a missing picture.
Match the affected receiver to its path
Observe existing indoor connections without unplugging. The first receiver follows the control unit’s STB path; an optional second receiver follows the antenna’s separate Receiver output. Only the Control-Box antenna connection serves the controller. Compare the already observed first/second receiver results and their exact screen messages; do not move cables or retune to create a comparison.
What the result means: A second-receiver-only symptom is not the same evidence as an antenna that never found its satellite. Report that boundary and leave the working path intact.
Keep receiver and reception context separate
Use existing failure details: a weather-related loss or blocked view differs from one channel disappearing while other channels already work. The manual also distinguishes receiver tuning from the control unit’s satellite-search information. Record the original channel, message and weather/obstruction context for support. Do not scan channels, update firmware or change the selected satellite merely to choose a cause.
What the result means: Support receives the actual stage and affected path instead of an assumed roof-antenna or firmware fault. A historical footprint diagram is not proof of today’s channel availability.
When to stop and get help
Keep clear of the moving antenna and leave cabling, supply work and installation to qualified service. Do not mount it on a vehicle, change satellite, retune, reset or install firmware to reproduce this fault. Do not interrupt an update already in progress.
What to tell support
Privately record antenna/control identity, manual version, original failure time, selected satellite, named lamp patterns, first/second receiver and exact TV/receiver message. Preserve the already observed weather/obstruction and channel-specific versus whole-receiver distinction without changing the installation.
