Confirm your model
Check the kit label and matching manual for Performance Gen 3. This model uses an Advanced Power Supply and the Performance cable with a red-notch connector. Earlier Performance generations and Standard kits have different parts.
How it connects
- Performance dish Performance cable
- Advanced Power Supply Ethernet or matching Router 3 kit cable
- Optional Starlink or third-party router
The dish connects to the Advanced Power Supply. A third-party router uses the kit Ethernet cable; a Router 3 needs its matching Performance Router 3 kit cable. The Performance Gen 3 kit does not include a router.
Lights and messages
- Use the Starlink app to distinguish a service outage from “Starlink unreachable” with a third-party router. The latter can be an app-to-terminal routing issue.
- An obstruction or alignment alert points to the dish view and position; check from safe ground using the app before changing hardware.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- Use the correct Performance Gen 3 cable, power supply and router kit. Do not assume a Standard or earlier Performance cable fits. Confirm the exact part in your Starlink account shop before buying.
