HDPVR 830 is the Advanced HDPVR recorder, not the HDDSR 800. Its official manual says two direct coax lines give best performance; with only one, use its Single Tuner Mode.
How it connects
- Satellite dish Up to two satellite coax feeds
- HDPVR 830 HDMI / Wi-Fi
- TV / home network
Two installed coax feeds support dual-tuner recording. If only one line is available, use the receiver’s Single Tuner Mode instead of splitting one feed or climbing to change the dish. On Demand uses home internet separately.
Lights and messages
- Record whether one or simultaneous recordings fail, active tuner mode, feed count and any on-screen message.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The 830 manual covers external USB storage. Before attaching or formatting a drive, check its requirements and preserve existing recordings; do not buy a coax splitter to imitate a second satellite feed.
