Confirm your model

Confirm the handset and charging port before selecting a cable. Original 9555 instructions use the dedicated charger connection; the USB-C version has separate documentation. Do not assume that any USB port on an older handset is the charging connection or substitute 9575/GO! accessories based on the brand name.

At a safe outdoor location with a clear sky view, extend the antenna fully and keep it vertical during use as shown in the matching guide. Trees, buildings and indoor use can prevent registration. If the phone was left on indoors, the quick start guide suggests one off/on restart after moving outside. Do not climb or enter unsafe terrain just to improve reception.

Lights and messages

  • Record the exact message. Searching for Iridium means the handset is attempting a network connection; Registered confirms network registration. Invalid Account requires the service provider. SIM PIN, Phone PIN and a blocked PIN are different problems: use the code supplied for that account and stop guessing. A blocked SIM requires provider assistance, not antenna movement.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

  • The manuals specify charging between 0 and 45°C and advise recharging after the low-battery warning. Do not deliberately deep-discharge the battery to troubleshoot it. Stop for swelling, leaks, abnormal heat, water or damaged contacts and ask the supplier for the correct replacement or service procedure. A factory reset cannot repair a damaged battery or charging connector.
