Use this page only when the label and menus match the original DStv Explora in the linked quick guide. Explora 2, 3A, 3B and Ultra have different hardware and should use their own instructions.
How it connects
- Installed DStv dish and LNB Satellite coax
- Original Explora decoder HDMI to correct TV input
- TV / HDMI
The original quick guide’s installation wizard shows satellite/LNB selection and signal status for three tuners. These settings depend on the actual installation; do not copy another household’s user-band values. Receiver activation is a separate provider step after installation.
Lights and messages
- E48 means insufficient satellite signal on the affected service; compare another channel and current weather before changing settings.
- No picture with no E48 can be TV input, HDMI or power; a signal bar does not establish subscription activation.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- Match the exact Explora generation and installed LNB before buying a remote, splitter, LNB or replacement decoder. DStv provider/installer guidance controls compatible user bands and activation.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
