Terra 400 (TR400)

Retired Beam Terra 400 installed satellite terminal. Beam still provides model-specific support and historical manuals. Discontinued manufacture does not establish whether your airtime account can be activated today; ask your service provider before relying on it or buying replacement equipment.

Confirm your model

Match Terra 400 and part number TR400 on the installed unit. The shared manual also names Oceana 400; do not extend its instructions to Terra 800, an IsatDock cradle or another Beam terminal. Record the existing antenna and cable-kit labels without disconnecting them.

How it connects

  1. Installed external antenna Model-matched antenna cable kit
  2. Terra 400 · TR400 Existing telephone connection
  3. Telephone and account
Simplified signal path, not an installation or rewiring diagram. Follow the linked manual for power connections, grounding and your exact hardware revision.

This overview describes an existing installation. Leave fixed power, antenna positioning and cable replacement to a qualified installer. A cable with a matching plug is not proof of the correct active/passive antenna arrangement. Ask Beam to confirm the exact cable and antenna combination before ordering parts.

Lights and messages

  • For Terra/Oceana 400, Beam describes green as registered with good signal and yellow as registered with poor signal. Record the displayed state and whether an ordinary call connects; the colour alone does not establish emergency-call reliability. Do not place test emergency calls.
  • An audible RF-short alarm is a stop condition. Beam advises removing power to avoid further damage. Use the normal safely accessible power control, keep the unit off and contact the installer; do not repeatedly reconnect power or isolate antenna cables as a household test.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • For support, supply the TR400 label, antenna and cable-kit identification, LED state, exact message and whether the problem affects voice or data. Keep account identifiers private. Historical modem and software instructions may target older computers; confirm supported software with Beam rather than installing unrelated drivers or firmware.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
