Applies to: Winegard Pathway X2 portable DISH antenna, stationary use. Source manual Rev7 10-17 is historical: confirm current receiver compatibility and satellite/arc choices with DISH or Winegard.
Match your symptom
| What you see | What to do next |
|---|---|
| No Mobile Antenna Setup / no movement | Confirm MAIN connection and supported receiver. |
| Error 150 or 151 | Check obstruction, coax and current setup choices. |
| Primary TV works; second TV drops | Compare the failure with primary channel changes. |
Work through these checks
Trace MAIN power
Read the port labels. The primary receiver’s SAT IN connects to antenna MAIN; SECONDARY alone does not power the antenna. Before reseating accessible coax, switch off and unplug the receiver. Do not open the dome or force the dish by hand.
What the result means: A secondary-only connection is a wiring issue, not proof the motor failed.
Check position and cable path
Choose a clear southern sky at ground level, near level, with coax ports roughly north as the manual shows. Use the supplied 25 ft cable directly between receiver and antenna for acquisition. The manual limits cable length to 50 ft; RV TV splitters and power supplies can obstruct the path.
What the result means: If it works directly, have the RV cable route checked instead of replacing the antenna.
Run one controlled scan
In Mobile Antenna Setup use the actual location and receiver count, with current DISH/Winegard guidance for the arc. Run Scan and allow acquisition and any receiver update to finish. Error 150 means the manual’s scan did not find all satellites; 151 means none. Neither code alone identifies a failed component.
What the result means: If a clear view and direct cable still fail, collect the scan result for support.
Separate two-TV limitations
The second receiver does not independently aim the X2 at another satellite. The manual warns that a primary channel change to another satellite can remove the second receiver’s signal. Hold the primary channel steady and compare behavior. Ask DISH which current setup supports your intended channels; do not follow old orbital positions blindly.
What the result means: A repeatable primary-channel dependency can be a system limitation rather than broken coax or receiver.
When to stop and get help
Stop in high winds or unsafe conditions. Do not put fingers near the moving base, open the dome, force motors, or mount the unit on a roof/ladder as a workaround. Ask Winegard/DISH for persistent scan faults.
What to tell support
Report Pathway X2, receiver model/software, exact error, location, scan choices, MAIN/SECONDARY wiring, cable length and whether direct coax or a steady primary channel changed the result.
Common questions
Can SECONDARY power the antenna?
No. The manual requires the primary receiver on MAIN whenever the antenna is in use.
Are 150 and 151 the same fault?
No. In this manual 150 is an incomplete satellite search and 151 finds none. Check the actual result and conditions rather than replacing a part from the code alone.
Can it receive while driving?
No. Pathway X2 is for stationary use. Do not confuse it with an in-motion antenna.
