Applies to: NEO Pandora V8001N, the 39 cm universal single-output model identified in the original NEO manual. Not the earlier Pandora V8001, a four-output or dCSS model, or an automatic-skew variant. No printed revision/date was identified; 2021 in the download path is not an edition claim. Current decoder, channel and service compatibility remain separate.
Work through these checks
Read the acquisition phase in its context
In the original normal operating sequence, red searches, orange verifies the satellite found and green confirms it is the selected satellite. Verification can take up to 30 seconds. Record whether it reaches green or returns to red. Once verified, automatic standby after about two stationary minutes can stop antenna movement; quiet operation is not alone a fault. The power key is the ordinary on/off control, not a software reset.
What the result means: Keep a normal search/verification cycle separate from alternating red/green in ordinary operation, which the manual treats as antenna disconnection or a fault for service investigation. Do not interpret an update’s lamp sequence as this same branch.
Separate a verified antenna from the receiver
If green was already reached but the TV has no picture, record the receiver’s own message and the existing signal path. In this single-output installation, ANTENNA IN receives the antenna cable and RECEIVER OUT leads to the receiver; the manual warns that reversing them can damage the receiver. Read labels only from safely accessible equipment. Do not unplug powered coax or substitute another NEO/dCSS wiring scheme.
What the result means: Satellite identification, receiver setup and programme entitlement are separate findings. Preserve the exact message and existing configuration for the appropriate equipment or service provider.
Read the existing local app connection
The controller supports one mobile device at a time. Open the existing authorized app connection and read its status, selected satellite and signal-quality display without changing the selector. In the app-connection section, a successful connection has green app status while the control-unit LED becomes red; failure shows red app status and “Control unit not connected”. These are local-link observations, not a universal red-lamp antenna diagnosis. Preserve the last connected phone’s identity; do not reset pairing to compare.
What the result means: An app-only connection problem does not prove that the installed receiver stopped receiving. Give support both the app state and the independently observed antenna/TV state; installer-only advanced settings are a different task.
When to stop and get help
Keep clear of the moving antenna and preserve any update in progress. Leave RF/power wiring and hardware access to qualified service. Do not enter installer calibration, alter satellite parameters, pair/reset the controller or install firmware merely to reproduce the symptom. No boat movement or antenna adjustment is required by this guide.
What to tell support
Privately retain model/serial from existing records, original time, selected satellite, manual-versus-app context, exact lamp sequence, app connection text and receiver message. Include whether an update was already active and whether the boat had been stationary; keep location and account details private for support.
