Wideye SABRE I · Rev 6.0

Original SABRE I portable BGAN terminal: distinguish LCD position/registration, local Ethernet management and an existing data context using the September 2011 Rev 6.0 guide.

Confirm your model

Match SABRE I and the visible Rev 6.0 release of 12 September 2011. Settings → Terminal Info identifies manufacturer, software version, Model ID, IMEI and SIM-dependent IMSI; retain these privately. A screenshot’s SABRE 1.2 and R012 example is not a universal installed version. This is not SABRE Ranger, Ranger 5000 or iSavi.

How it connects

The integrated terminal has RJ45 Ethernet for a local computer and a separate RJ11 analogue-phone port. Its own LCD and browser Web Console are different management interfaces to the same terminal. Ethernet Router and Bridge modes differ; preserve the installed mode rather than applying another Wideye terminal’s network defaults.

Lights and messages

  • The LCD distinguishes Acquiring GPS…, New GPS fix, a stored-position prompt, Registering… and the service-provider name after registration. Filled versus outlined GPS icons distinguish new and stored coordinates. The P icon means packet-service attachment, while a separate icon identifies active packet switching; attachment alone is not an active data context.
  • In this edition the Web Console uses green for active and grey for inactive indicators. The LCD’s Ethernet-enabled icon and separate physical-disconnection icon are not satellite-delivery receipts. Read the named screen and interface state; do not reuse orange/green meanings from later FleetBroadband or other Wideye manuals.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • The original kit lists a 1.8 m RJ11 telephone cord and 1.5 m Cat 5 RJ45 network cable. The Corded Caller ID Handset SB1/AH200 is marked optional in Appendix 4; do not assume a generic handset or another terminal’s accessory is equivalent. Historical product-CD and browser requirements do not confirm present software compatibility.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
