Confirm your model

Match the X5-Touch label and original Rev 1.0 guide, copyright 2019. It has two nano-SIM slots with configurable SAT/GSM roles; their current assignments matter more than a slot-number assumption. This is not XT-PRO DUAL, Thuraya One or a SatSleeve. The historical Android baseline does not establish current app, OS or service compatibility.

How it connects

The handset has separate satellite and terrestrial network paths. Settings → SIM cards also selects Mobile data through Thuraya GmPRS or terrestrial 4G/3G/2G, independently of a contact’s call preference. The manual separately describes USB tethering to a computer. Observe the existing route without enabling data, tethering or swapping networks.

Lights and messages

• Flashing “Location update…” together with the satellite signal icon means the phone is still obtaining the location required for satellite use. “Position too old” is another location-update observation in the troubleshooting section. Signal indication alone is not the completed location/readiness state.
• SAT-related interface items are blue and GSM-related items green in this guide; these are not diagnostic colours for the physical LED. Separate icons identify GmPRS active, a circuit-switched satellite data call, call mute and call forwarding. Keep each icon’s screen context instead of equating every active call or app with satellite data.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

• The original package list includes earphones, a USB-C data cable and a support USB disk. Their presence is not a promise that the disk’s historical software or any present Android app works today. Compatibility with accessories for other Thuraya handsets is not established here.
