Sky+HD DRX890W

Official DRX890W user guide and safe checks for a Sky+HD box reporting no satellite signal.

Confirm your model

Read DRX890W on the equipment label. This legacy Sky+HD box and its two satellite inputs differ from Sky Q; do not apply Sky Q LNB or menu instructions.

How it connects

  1. Installed minidish Satellite input cables
  2. Sky+HD DRX890W HDMI
  3. TV
Simplified signal path, not an installation or rewiring diagram. Follow the linked manual for power connections, grounding and your exact hardware revision.

The official guide identifies Dish Input 1 and Dish Input 2 on the rear panel. Keep the installed cable arrangement; do not move plugs between ports as an initial test, especially on a communal system.

Lights and messages

  • “No satellite signal” is a receiver reception message, not proof that the TV HDMI or home internet is down. Note whether one channel or all channels fail.
  • Recording and Planner warnings are separate from signal loss. Do not perform a full system reset when you want to preserve recordings.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • Sky+HD is legacy equipment. Ask Sky or a qualified installer about service and compatible replacement before buying a receiver or LNB. A Sky Q-only LNB is not a drop-in repair.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.

Model-specific parts: start with the official source

Confirm the exact model and part number with the manufacturer or provider before buying any replacement part or accessory.
