How it connects
The Category 1 Pro assembly uses a float-free automatic-release housing with an HR1E hydrostatic release unit. Inspect visible mounting, antenna damage, obstructions and the marked HRU expiry without releasing, dismantling or wetting it. The beacon lanyard must not be tied to vessel structures. Refer damage or an expired or unclear HRU date to authorized beacon service. EPIRB3 Pro NFC lets a compatible phone read programmed details and the latest test results; it is not Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Separate 406 MHz and AIS indications. RLS confirms that an alert was received, located and routed, not that a rescue mission has launched. RLS configuration depends on the country protocol and is not user-changeable. Basic beacon tests, GNSS tests and rescue acknowledgements answer different questions. Preserve existing results and their time; a successful test does not verify the owner registration. This is a non-emergency inspection. Do not activate distress transmission, open the case or start extra tests for this guide. In real danger, follow the exact official emergency instructions.
